This page is for aquatic animals that I like ^_^
Sea Angel
Scientific name: Clione limacina
Habitat: deep sea
These animals are found in cold and temperate waters. What sets them apart from other seaslugs are their 'wings' which they use to swim. Sea angels are carnivorous and primarily eat sea butterflies.
Moon Jellyfish
Scientific name: Aurelia aurita
Habitat: inshore water
One of the more popular kinds of jellyfish, moon jellyfish can be found in temperate and tropical waters and near the coast. Unlike most jellyfish, these animals have incredibly short tentacles. Their sting is not strong enough to harm humans.
Whale Shark
Scientific name: Rhincodon typus
Habitat: shallow and deep water and lagoons
Unlike most sharks who hunt for food, whale sharks are filter feeders. That means that their diet consists of plankton, krill, fish eggs. It also occasionally feeds on small fish or squid. Whale shark are the largest fish being able to reach a length of 12 metres.
Kuhli Loach
Scientific name: Pangio kuhlii
Habitat: sandy river beds and slow flowing streams
Small and worm-like, these animals are quite different from other animals. These fish live can be found in small groups, but they're shy and prefer being in places where they can hide. Kuhli loach are quite popular as aquarium fish and can live for 10 years or more in captivity.
Giant Oceanic Manta Ray
Scientific name: Mobula birostris
Habitat: tropical and temperate waters
As the name implies, the giant oceanic manta ray are the biggest type of ray in the world. This manta ray can be found in any area with high amounts of zooplankton.
The manta ray also have one of the largest brains and are also some of the few animals who seem to be able to pass the mirror test. The white spots on manta rays typically change size when meeting new individuals, however this did not happen when confronted with a mirror. Social behaviour between specimens in the tank also decreased (similar to apes and dolphins). However, it's still debated whether manta ray can truly pass the mirror test.
Gulper Eel
Scientific name: Eurypharynx pelecanoides
Habitat: tropical and temperate waters
Also known as the pelican eel, these deep sea eels are mostly known for their large mouth. These eels are able to inflate their mouths to appear massive. With their large jaws and expandable stomachs, gulper eels are able to swallow prey bigger than their body, although it appears that they mostly feed on small crustaceans.
Tripod Fish
Scientific name: Bathypterois grallator
Habitat:
